Senior-Friendly Activities in Lake Oswego, OR

Finding care for yourself or the Senior in your life can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be.

At Senior Helpers Portland West, we have helped hundreds of Oregon families and we are here to support you and your loved ones. Our family-owned and operated company offers a variety of non-medical services for seniors in and around Portland, OR.

Our caring and trained caregivers provide quality care, no matter where you or your Senior lives, whether that be a home, an apartment, a senior community, or a facility. We offer a variety of services. These include companion and personal care for Seniors who need help with daily activities, as well as specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, and other chronic diseases.

Our Team

Denise Graham, our owner, is a registered nurse (RN) with over 50 years of experience. She and our team are committed to providing care that earns our clients' trust and offers the support they need. Our management team interviews each caregiver and ensures they receive ongoing training in senior home care. We are available 24/7 and introduce caregivers to new clients on their first day for a smooth transition. Our caregivers usually work with one or two clients at a time, which helps them provide consistent care and develop meaningful connections.

Our Process

Our assessment process, called LIFE Profile, helps us determine the best care for our clients. We also specialize in dementia and Alzheimer’s care through our program, Senior Gems®, designed with input from expert Teepa Snow. We also offer specialized training for Parkinson’s disease.

We are proud to serve seniors and families in Portland, OR, and surrounding communities.

Home Healthcare Services in Lake Oswego, OR

Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care

We specialize in Alzheimer’s care, offering customized plans to meet the unique challenges of memory care. Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive and degenerative brain disease and the most commonly known form of dementia. What you may not know is that Dementia is not a specific disease. It is actually an overall term used to describe a group of symptoms specific to memory loss and other cognitive impairments that are serious enough to interfere with your loved one’s daily activities.

Companion Care

Senior Helpers in-home companion care services focus on improving the health and well-being of your aging loved ones so they can get the most out of life. While many of our clients enjoy their independence, there comes a time when additional assistance may be needed. A simple ride to the doctor’s office or grocery store can be an obstacle to overcome when family and friends live far away.

Parkinson’s Care

Whether you care for someone who has been recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, are adjusting to new challenges as the disease progresses, or have been living with Parkinson’s for a long time, a strong support network is essential for your wellbeing. Our specialized Parkinson’s care services provide practical strategies and expert support to enhance quality of life.

Personal Care

Senior Helpers understands the difficulties that a family faces when everyday activities and personal tasks become challenging for a loved one to complete on their own as a result of an injury, medical condition, or simply part of the aging process. Our personal care services offer families the chance to take a break, knowing their loved ones are in capable hands.

Veterans Care & VA Benefit Assistance

As a Senior Helpers VA provider, it is our honor and privilege to be able to give back to our Veterans within our community. We are dedicated to giving veterans the care that they deserve. As a contracted provider we can assist our veterans who need personal care services and help with activities of daily living. The Homemaker and Home Health Aide program is to help veterans remain safe and independent while continuing to live in their own home.

Respite Care

When a senior loved one needs a little extra help at home, the first instinct is often to offer that help ourselves. However, when you are caring for others, it is important to make sure that you are not neglecting your own health. While taking care of a loved one can be rewarding, it can also be stressful and a very time-consuming responsibility. You need regular rest to keep you focused, and time to take care of your responsibilities outside of your family as well. That's where a Senior Helpers’ caregiver can be of assistance.

Surgery Assistance & Sitter Services

You want to be there with your elderly family member every minute of the day, but you simply can't. Senior Helpers can help. Our dedicated caregivers are trained to provide sitter services and comprehensive non-medical care and assistance to seniors recovering from surgery. We can watch over your elderly loved one while they are in a hospital or facility, providing you with a much-needed break and a supplement to the care your loved one is receiving from medical personnel during their stay.

Transitional Care

Heading home after a stay in the hospital or a nursing facility is a significant step—it can feel overwhelming. Adjusting back to your daily routine takes time, and that’s where Senior Helpers can make all the difference. Our transitional care program actively supports clients before, during, and after discharge, ensuring a smooth and stress-free transition.
