Senior Helpers Portland West Center of Excellence

The Senior Helpers Portland West Center of Excellence is our space for training caregivers, family members, and industry professionals. Located in our Senior Helpers Portland West office in downtown Tualatin, the center simulates a real home environment. It focuses on important areas like the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen for hands-on learning.

We even have a manikin named “Darla” that mimics human anatomy and physiology and safely allows for the teaching of skills in a professional healthcare setting. It is one of the many training tools that our caregivers use.

Denise Graham, the owner of Senior Helpers Portland West, is a registered nurse with more than 50 years of experience caring for seniors. She is proud that her business makes meaningful difference in the lives of clients – and caregivers. Our amazing caregivers join Senior Helpers because of the positive impact of in-home care on families. Seeing how compassionate, well-trained caregivers improve seniors' lives highlighted the need for a dedicated space for high-quality education and training.

Family caregivers gain practical experience through real-life scenario training. They learn effective techniques to care for their loved ones. The center also offers educational talks and support groups, helping families understand senior care and feel more supported.

Welcome to the Senior Helpers Portland West Center of Excellence

The Senior Helpers Center of Excellence in Caregiving is a small apartment built inside of our office which has a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. It is a space where we can elevate our own caregivers' skills and knowledge and where we can also elevate the skills and knowledge of family caregivers and members of the community who assist the elderly.
